The PD-6LCR is a true left, centre & right channel In-Wall speaker that can be mounted either as a horizontal centre channel or vertical LCR. The PD-6 is setting a new benchmark for In-Wall speaker systems.
"Dual-channel" or "dual voice coil" loudspeakers are a popular application in custom installation for smaller listening areas such as a bathroom, laundry room or walk-in closet. The latest addition to BG’s PD-Series, the PD-6CS provides a superior alternative to conventional models currently available on the market. Yet this affordable model utilizes the same high performance ribbon driver and Kevlar™ woofer as found in other PD-Series models along with a Neodymium magnet.
Virtually every other dual-channel speaker on the market uses two closely spaced tweeters, which create comb filtering and lobing, resulting in uneven coverage. The PD-6CS is the first dual-channel architectural loudspeaker that correctly reproduces information from two channel stereo sources. It does so by accurately integrating signals from both stereo channels into one, so that true high fidelity and outstanding coverage can be delivered from a single speaker.
The secret lies in BG’s Coherent Signal Summation, accurately integrating signals from both stereo channels into one signal that can be reproduced from a single loudspeaker. The advanced design of the PD-6CS combines a dual voice coil woofer and single tweeter with a signal summation network, built around a specifically designed summation transformer. The transformer employs a high-performance “Metglass” core while integrating tweeter crossover and attenuation controls into one network. The result is smooth, wide and consistent coverage, even in smaller listening areas.
